No pads, no helmets... just balls 10 years

Today it's March 19 of 2012, ten years ago since Simple Plan released their debut record No Pads, no helmets... just balls.
Let's make a journey back in time and think about some good old memories.

The album was released on March 19 through Atlantic Records and four singles were released from the album. The album was number 8 in Canada and sold double platinum. The record was number 35 on the American Billboard 200. In Australia it was number 29 and also sold platinum. In Japan it was number 1 on all charts and sold double platinum. The album wasn't released in the United Kingdom from the beginning, but even there the album reached Gold status. The debutalbum contained two collaborations, with Joel Madden from Good Charlotte and Mark Hoppus from Blink -182. The album sold over two million copies and was awarded with a double platinum from Recording Industry Association of America.

The original album contaied 12 songs and ended with the hit single Perfect. Different versions of the record have been released in different countries and in total there are 16 tracks, four are bonus tracks and they appear in different countries. One by one was released in Australia, Japan and United Kingdom. Grow Up was an extra track on all album and could also be bought on iTues. My Christmas List was a hidden track in Grow Up and occured in United States and United Kingdom. Then there was a live version of the cover of American Jesus and was released in Europe, in United Kingdom it was a hidden track in Grow Up but in other countries like Sweden it had its own track.

In Japan there also was a little DVD, the record was released as a CD+DVD and the DVD contained videos from I'm just a kid, I'd do anything and Addicted.

Four singles were released from the record and each of them got their own video. The singles were I'm just a kid (debut single), I'd do anything, Addicted and Perfect.
Everything went great for the "new" band, they were new for the world but not for the first fans. They started playing together in 1999 which is 13 years ago. The album got rated by the biggest magazines there is, All Music Guide rated them 4/5 and Rolling Stone 2/5.

We know that the story isn't over yet. They released their fourth studio record on June 21st 2011, 9 years after the debut album. This year they will release a new DVD and an EP that contains songs we haven't heard before.

Happy 10th anniversary No pads, no helmets... just balls
